Knit 3: Your First Sweater - The Summer Edition!
Ready to take the next step in your knitting and make your first garment? Our popular First Sweater class is getting a summer makeover!
In this four-part course, you'll make a lightweight, short-sleeved raglan tee while learning all the essential skills involved in constructing a sweater from the top down. You'll be using the Vanilla Chilla Tee pattern by Veronika Lindberg - it's the perfect summer tee!
Along the way you'll learn how to read and follow a garment pattern, choose your size and yarn, new techniques for knitting in the round, work raglan increases and shaping, separate the body and sleeves, pick up stitches for a professional-looking neckline, and work a neat folded hem. You'll also learn the finishing techniques that transform your knitting into a polished, wearable garment.
Best of all, the techniques you'll learn aren't just for this tee. You'll leave with the skills and confidence to tackle all kinds of top-down garments, all year round!
Students will need to provide their own yarn and needles. Guidance on yarn choice, quantity, and needle sizes will be provided prior to the first session - feel free to visit Maker Maker in person where our friendly staff will assist you with yarn and needle selection! Please note that the yarn and needles must be purchased prior to the class commencing - there will not be time available during the class to choose your yarn.
The pattern is included in the cost of the course.
And the best bit? Students purchasing their tee supplies at Maker Maker will receive a 10% discount. Also, students will receive a 10% discount on any other purchases made on the day/s of the course!
The class is taught by Zoe, who has many years of experience as both a knitter and a teacher.
