Crochet 2: Granny Squares!

Ready to take your crochet skills to the next level? Welcome to the endlessly adaptable world of granny squares!

Designed for beginner crocheters comfortable with the foundational stitches, this class builds on the skills learned in Crochet Foundations and introduces a range of granny squares and shapes, from the classic granny square to more contemporary variations.

Along the way you'll learn how to read crochet charts and patterns, work in the round, change colours, create different stitch patterns and textures, and make traditional squares as well as triangular and rectangular variations. Granny squares are one of crochet's most versatile building blocks; once you understand how they're constructed, they can become almost anything.

You'll receive patterns for some simple modular designs so you can put your new skills straight into making your first crochet project from motifs.

Once the class is done, you'll leave with a collection of samples, a much better understanding of crochet construction, and the skills and confidence to take your crochet beyond the basics. 

The class is taught by Zoe, who has many years of experience as both a crocheter and a teacher. 

Materials included: 3.50mm and 4.00mm Clover Amour crochet hook, and 3 balls of Bio Sunny.

Cost: $225

Class duration: 2 hours per session

Sessions: 2 sessions per course (see dates below)

 - September 24th + October 8th (Thursdays 6pm - 8pm)

 - November 15th + 29th (Sundays 10:30am - 12:30pm)

Expected Skills Required: Ability to do simple crochet stitches such as half treble and treble (UK).
