Knit 3: Your First Sweater!

Knit 3: Your First Sweater!

Regular price $300.00

Designed for intermediate beginners ready to take the next step in their knitting journey, this course will guide you through making your very first raglan sweater in the round.

Skills already needed to be mastered include capably doing the knit stich, purl stitch and proficiency in knitting in the round.

Over four sessions and 8 weeks, you’ll knit the No Frills Sweater by PetiteKnit, learning how to construct a garment from the top down with clear, structured guidance at every stage.

You’ll learn essential garment-making techniques including cast on and shaping methods for sweaters, raglan increases, separating sleeves from the body, small circumference knitting techniques, and finishing methods that give your sweater a polished, wearable result. Along the way, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of garment construction and how you can make simple modifications to suit your fit requirements.

Between sessions, you’ll have time to progress your knitting at a steady, supported pace, with guidance via a weekly email to help you troubleshoot any problems you might encounter.

You’ll finish the course with a beautifully handmade sweater, and the confidence to take on more complex garment knitting independently!

Students will need to provide their own yarn and needles. Guidance on yarn choice, quantity, and needle sizes will be provided prior to the first session - feel free to visit Maker Maker in person where our friendly staff will assist you with yarn and needle selection! Please note that the yarn and needles must be purchased prior to the class commencing - there will not be time available during the class to choose your yarn.

The pattern is included in the cost of the course.

And the best bit? Students purchasing their sweater supplies at Maker Maker will receive a 10% discount. Also, students will receive a 10% discount on any other purchases made on the day/s of the course!

The class is taught by Zoe, who has many years of experience as both a knitter and a teacher.
