Donegal Chunky 14ply

Meet Donegal Chunky, our thickest tweed yarn from Spinning Yarns Weaving Tales. Donegal Chunky has texture, it has character, and the knitted results are really fun! It is made from 100% wool and is still 'In the Oil' meaning it hasn't been as harshly scoured (washed), leaving most of the lanolin in the yarn and saving a lot of water. This leaves the yarn quite grippy, smelling delightfully sheepy, and as an extra bonus your hands get moisturised as you knit! (Don't worry, it washes out when blocking)

Donegal Chunky is a rustic tweed 14ply yarn perfect for cozy garments to keep the winter cold out, and is softer than its 10ply cousin, Dooish. It is also a fantastic colourwork yarn for beautiful yoked sweaters, or let the colourful tweed flecks shine on their own!
