Fibre Arts Shed - Yarn Over Yarn
We're so happy to welcome the Yarn Over Yarn from Fibre Arts Shed to our shelves! Run by Clare and Paul, Fibre Arts Shed is a small, family-owned fibre arts business and mini mill located on Darkinjung Country in Jilliby, NSW.
Their 10ply Yarn Over Yarn is made from 50% Cheviot wool, and 50% reclaimed mill fibre. This reclaimed fibre is the fluff leftover from spinning other yarns at the mill, and would usually be disposed of. But the clever folk at Fibre Arts Shed have blended it in with the "new wool" fibre to create a beautiful, subtlely coloured yarn! The base colour of this batch is a natural, warm, unddyed grey, and has subtle heathered flecks of pink and teal from the reclaimed fibres.
This yarn has a slightly more rustic texture, which would be fantastic for cosy sweaters, vests and beanies. Being more toothy, it would be a dream for colourwork and chunky cables!
