Knitting socks is great fun, they can be simple, intricate, colourful, quick, and they make great travel projects. They are wonderfully cozy to wear and make fantastic gifts too. But, they have some unique techniques and can be a bit tricky when you're first learning.
In this class we will guide you through the basics of knitting your socks from the cuff down, with a more complex but well-fitting gusset heel.
Techniques include the German Twisted cast on, using dpn's, a traditional heel-flap heel, and how to graft your toe together with the infamous Kitchener stitch. So come along and learn knit your own pair of comfy socks!
This class will be run over two Saturdays, and there may be some knitting time required during the week.
Difficulty: Adventurous beginners to intermediate knitters
When: Saturday May 18th AND 25th from 11:00-1:00
To Bring: 4ply sock yarn in a light colour, set of 2.25mm double pointed needles, darning needle
